Reviews and Ratings
Slaley Hall is set in beautiful grounds, making it a picturesque getaway. The food is top-notch, particularly the evening meals which were delightful. However, the spa experience was less than ideal, and there were issues with room cleanliness upon arrival. While the staff was generally accommodating, it felt like the hotel could improve on the service aspect and overall value for the elevated price point.
We enjoyed a relaxing getaway at Slaley Hall, with stunning autumn scenery and delicious dining experiences, especially from the Brasserie staff. However, the spa area was a bit disappointing due to the limited adult-only hours and a noisy relaxation room, making it less ideal for a true spa day. The overall value for our stay was good, but our room had some drawbacks that could be improved.
My experience at Slaley Hall fell short of expectations despite some great moments. The staff were genuinely accommodating, which enhanced our stay, and the spa treatments were top-notch. However, the initial check-in issues and the state of the spa facilities were disappointing. Overall, while I appreciated the good service and some aspects of the dining, the hotel needs significant improvements to justify the price.
Our stay at Slaley Hall was primarily relaxing, surrounded by beautiful wooded areas and stunning rhododendrons. The room was spacious and well-maintained, providing a comfortable retreat. However, our dining experience at the Claret Jug restaurant fell short due to poor service and disappointing food quality. While the breakfast was enjoyable, the long wait for dinner really took away from the experience.
I was really looking forward to our spa experience, but it turned out to be quite disappointing. While the grounds are absolutely stunning and there is a sense of peace outside, the overall service and dining experience left much to be desired. The rooms need updating and the meal was far from the luxury we anticipated for the price we paid. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it for a getaway.
